The past two weeks have been intensely busy and hot! Daytime temps have been in the high 70s and there has been no rain for two weeks. I was running around dragging the hose from field to field trying to keep everyone hydrated. But Friday we got a break and have had off and on showers with cooler temps. But as you can imagine everything is booming, because flowers love heat and sun.
We are almost finished with tulips but will have a few more bunches for Saturday’s Burlington Farmers Market.
In the cold frame:
Anemones are slowing down but Ranunculus are starting to bloom.
Sweet William is blooming with amazing tall stems.
We have one rouge sweet pea plant that’s making the cold frame smell heavenly.
In the field:
Lilac are just starting to burst, perfect right now. The bees will be here soon making our trees hum with buzzing.
Allium are about to burst open…they are so fun-looking like lollipops in the field.
Looks like we will have a few more helleborus flowers next week; so unique, I love them.
Our bedding plants are ready to be planted in your garden or window boxes.
The peonies are twice the size they normally are for this time of year and should start blooming end of May.
This growing season is opening up strong…excited for another amazing flower season.
