Over the past few weeks I have been digging, curing and packing up Dahlia Tubers for winter storage. Once I see how many tubers we have, I start making edits to the store as to what will be available. This year we are excited to bring to you new varieties we haven’t had in the past.
From the largest…
Penhill Watermelon
Alex Mingus
Belle of Barmera
Labyrinth
To the smallest…
Rocco
These are just a few on the website.
This season we changed the shopping format. You can now purchase single tubers, so you can expand your dahlia garden. To visit our store click here.
As we are a small farm, our varieties change year to year based on what tubers thrive or which ones we didn’t plant enough of.
It’s exciting to announce that in 2020 we are adding another dahlia field of 5,000 square feet. This summer we prepared the field by moving sod and burning out weeds with a silage tarp so we can provide even more cut dahlias and tubers to our customers in years to come. Every season we trial about 10 varieties that take about 2 seasons to produce enough tubers to sell online, only if they are cut-flower worthy. Not every dahlia meets my standards: productive, strong stems, and showing off its large head.
It’s so exciting to share our collection with you. Looking forward to providing you all with tubers this spring and beyond. Thank you for purchasing our tubers that allow us to expand and grow.
Warmly,
