The ground is frozen but the work doesn’t stop for this Farmer Florist.
We put in our high tunnel–now what? I have started a map of what seedlings, bulbs, tubers and corms will be going in when and where. I am a visual thinker so drawing it out works best for me.
I am trying to get a head start with things on the farm that seem to become chaotic and get lost in the madness of spring. I mapped out what varieties of dahlias are stored in our large stacked crates.
I mapped out the tulip field, so I can take better notes. Before I just labeled the varieites in the field and they always get buried.
I am also creating a weekly planner that can be used on a table top and then hung on the wall for my helpers to see the tasks and deliveries of the week. I am realizing that because our brains all function differently, the info I need as a farmer is different than someone in an office. I need a customized planner that is multipurpose so I am not writing things down so many times or repeating myself.
Please comment below…share what visual organizational methods work for you? If you’re interested in our planner let me know. I would love to publish a batch.

I’m interested in your planner! As a flower farmer also, I am always looking at ways to organize my planting (at least on paper!)
