It is still very wintry here at the Painted Tulip. Snow is covering the ground, day temps are in the 30’s F and nights in the 20’s. Some weeks are sunny; others are very gray with sun peeking out just once in the week. But as the days are getting longer, changes are happening:
Lilac buds are fattening
In the cold frame: Dianthus is pushing up stalks
Ranunculus and Anenomes are growing and putting out new leaves
Tulips and daffodils for this season are poking up
Soon we will be transplanting snapdragons (250 +) and stock into the cold frame.
In the hot house:
Lilies are starting to grow in their crates
and I am seeding new trays of flowers every day
Still awhile until we get outside and start weeding and planting but we are at the final push before Spring.
