Our growing season is over for 2011. Outside we have cut everything down. Dahlia tubers have been dug up and stored in the basement . Soon the greenhouse they will get dug up as well.

The plow has tilled everything in.

Due to the unusual amazing weather we are reorganizing the perrenial beds. Which means weeding then creating raised bed. Re- planting the perrienals then fertilizing and putting down wood chios so seedlings and weeds grow less. I was completely inspired to do this after a farm tour of Third Branch Flower Farm in Roxbury, VT.

So whats next. ..We are potting and chilling Daffodils for February /March. November – December we will be cutting red dogwood twigs for decorating and sales.
December we will be cutting evergreens and making wreathes. January- March forcing pussy willow.
In February we will be starting seedlings, and soaking tubers… growing again.
So really we don’t stop growing it just slows down. But the wedding inquires are rolling in for 2012 weddings.. so we are writing many proposals.
